Day 2 - Taipei

We made it! Safe and sound after 1 aborted landing and 24 hours of travel! We met up with two friends, which was great as they were able to fill us in on the idiosyncrasies of Taiwanese culture (when you're done eating, don't leave your chopsticks sticking in the bowl, but rather resting on top, or else it means death!) During the day, we went to see the CKS (ruthless dictator) memorial, which made him seem as saintly as Ghandi. At night, we went to Snake Alley, one of the night markets, which is known for the stalls that kill the snake, drain its blood and offer it to you as a drink. We were not so adventurous, and had recognizable food. Maybe later on the trip we'll try these things out.
Today will be another day in Taipei, before heading south to the beach! Hope you're all doing well!

Well I knew Dave would chicken out of the snakes blood but I totally thought Sara would go for it!
Just kidding guys, I'm glad you made it safe and hope everything is going well.

Hey kids. I'm keeping things real in the Hammer without you(s).
Tell the Taiwanese people I say Hi.
You should watch a show called "It started with a Kiss". Apparently it was quite popular in Taiwan.
Ciao
Hey Sara,
I am glad to hear you both arrived safely!
Cheers,

Glad you are safe, although the plane problem didn't sound that good.
And here I thought an Olsen would eat anything!! Way to let us down Dave!
Your trip sounds so exciting! Be safe and post lots of pictures!

Have you figured out what you've forgotten yet? Happens on every trip... admit it... you forgot something from home.
Stay well!

Do you guys find yourselves missing any particular Canadian foods that you can't find over there?
Dave, I think you need to try a little snakes blood; it will amuse me. ha ha
