The view from the Perhentian Islands



Our favorite beach yet, Redang...white sand and crystal clear



So as you could probably gather from our last blog, the Perhentians were amazing, especially the snorkeling. The coral was huge and colourful, and the variety of fish was mind boggling. Well, this is coming from people who are comparing it to the great lakes, but honestly, it was cool. We saw baby sharks (2-3 ft long), sting rays, a moray eel (who are super freaky when you are innocently checking out the crevasses of some coral and find yourself face to face with one), and the best of all, a full grown sea turtle chomping away at the plant life on the sea floor, and swimming up to the surface for some air. We feel a special bond with them now after watching them lay eggs in Borneo.
