Mt. Kinabalu, Borneo
We're in Kota Kinabalu in Borneo... I love it (Sara speaking). The people are super friendly, the city is very modern, there's tons of outdoorsy activities to do nearby. We climbed Mt. Kinabalu yesterday, the highest peak in SE Asia. It's a 2 day hike, the first you make it to the camp, sleep for awhile and then start out at 3 am to make it to the summit for daybreak. Apparently it gets really foggy later on in the day and visibility is reduced to 1.5 m, but we (Sara and the required guide) didn't encounter any of that. Dave wasn't feeling well, and we just found out has a fever of 102 F but made it to base camp (not too shabby!). We also went with an Australian couple and their 21 month old, and the dad carried the baby up in his arms and also had 5 stitches in his foot.
