More pics

Dave in his Tuareg turban in front of a Dogon village on the top of a cliff. Houses on the top of the cliff were made of stone while those at the bottom were prdominantly mud due to available materials. The conical straw roofs are the tps of the grain storage huts.

Kids washing their sheep in the Niger River. For Africa, this was a damn fine sheep. Did you know that the sheep here do not have wooly exteriors? They are only for meat. Although it does get chilly at night, they make blankets out of camel wool.

It is dry season, so the water level in the river is very low. Many nomads were herding their cattle across the Niger river. They said that the cattle can also swim, but we ll wait to see that.
