Accra

We arrived safe and sound after what seemed like a neverending flight stuck in the middle of the middle row. Luckily, we had arranged to be picked up at the airport because the exit was like the red carpet at the Oscars, lots of people vying for your attention from behind a barricade.

We went to the big market in Accra today, on the way back it took us awhile to figure out how to use public transportation. Essentially these vans, they call tro-tros, come by the main drag and the conductor is hanging out the door yelling out destinations. Unfortunately, we had no idea what our destination was called, and it seemed like you had to be quick about things as whenever the tro-tro stopped, there was a MAD dash of people pushing each other to get through the door. After about 15 minutes of happily eating our pineapple (dave says what a sweet pineapple it was!), a man approached us and asked us what we were doing there, and eventually helped us get on the right bus (essentially consisted of him pointing to one that had just arrived, and us making a mad dash of our own for a seat).

Now we're trying to figure out where to go next, apparently it's Independence Day on Friday! Anyways - main message is we're safe and sound and sweaty.
